Person of the Year: Mark Zuckerberg

Facebook image

It was close. The person of the year in my opinion was between Mark Zuckerberg creator of Facebook, Julian Assange creator of Wikileak and Steve Jobs co-creator of Apple. On one hand a lot of people (if not the whole world) has become aware of government secrets, tactics and strategy with the help of Julian Assange. A lot of people now have Ipods, Ipad and Iphones with the help of Steve Jobs. On the other hand lonliness, connection and reconnections have been made with the help of Mark Zuckerberg. Oh yes, it was close!

As close as it was, the person of the year has to go to Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook has allowed people to participate and reconnect with old friends and family. Wikileak, as brillant of a job its doing to bring awareness, allows no public participation or influence. Although there is customer’s participation in apple’s productions, it still uses facebook functions and applications to largely build connection with users of the I-machines. Mark Zuckerberg has allowed 2 Billion out of 6.9 billion people in the world to feel a since of belonging through active and for many, meaningful associations. Many relationships and invitations has taken place with the help of facebook.

It’s a funny comparison because one of facebook’s biggest flaw is privacy but Wikileak’s greatest attribute is exposing privacy content. One of apple’s biggest flaw is said that products fail to be user friendly, which is improving. Wikileak and facebook do not have this problem. Nevertheless, it means a lot more to people if they can have control of the information and access to whatever they want. This is proven by 700 000 people joining facebook every day.
